Swearing-in Ceremony: CP Kaigama Orders Maximum Deployment of Security at Kangiwa Square

The Commissioner of Police, Sokoto state command CP Ali Hayatu Kaigama, has ordered the maximum deployment of the personnel, intelligence and operational resources at Shehu Kangiwa Square, Sokoto, the venue for the Swearing-in Ceremony of the Sokoto State Governor-elect, Ahmad Aliyu Sokoto and his Deputy, Idris Muhammad Danchadi on 29th May 2023,

ASP Ahmad Rufai Ag. Police Public Relations Officer, made the disclosure in a statement issued.

He said the deployment was part of the Command effective policing of the venue, and other parts of the State.

He maintained that the deployment, which shall be in synergy with other Security Forces, is to ensure a secured, safe and peaceful atmosphere before, during and after the inauguration.

ASP Rufa’i further said in the foregoing, the Commissioner has warned mischief and/or troublemakers, who may want to foment trouble or breach public peace under any guise before, during and after the ceremony, to desist forthwith and steer clear of the venue and the State in general, as the Police and other Security Forces shall deal decisively with any person or individuals found wanting.

The CP, therefore, urged citizens of the State to remain law-abiding and vigilant as they go about their lawful businesses.

He enjoined them to continue to support the Police with credible information and/or intelligence on criminals and their activities, by reporting to the nearest Police Station, or by calling the Command’s emergency hotlines on 07068848035.and rest assured that their identities and the information provided shall be treated with utmost confidentiality.
