In a significant move to foster collaborative governance, a high-level delegation from the newly inaugurated Sokoto Advancement Forum (SAF) paid a courtesy visit to the Sokoto State Police Command Headquarters.
The delegation, led by its Chairman, Ambassador Professor Muhammad Ahmad Wali, was received by the Commissioner of Police, CP Ahmed Musa, PSC, and his senior management team.

The Sokoto Advancement Forum, a non-partisan civil society organisation officially launched on April 30, 2025, comprises major stakeholders from across Sokoto State. Its core philosophy is that government efforts in governance need to be robustly supported and complemented by the knowledge, wisdom, experience, and resources of these stakeholders for the overall development and security of the state.
During the visit, Ambassador Professor Wali elaborated on the Forum’s objectives stating that recognizing the Nigeria Police Force as the lead agency in internal security, the visit was imperative to introduce the Forum and seek a strong, collaborative partnership with the Command.
He emphasized that SAF aims to serve as an actor with the security agencies, offering support to enhance peace and security across Sokoto.
In his response, the Commissioner of Police, CP Ahmed Musa, warmly welcomed the esteemed entourage, which included prominent figures from the academia.
He commended the initiative and the noble objectives of the Sokoto Advancement Forum.
The CP assured the delegation of the Command’s full support and cooperation. He highlighted the importance of such community-driven initiatives in intelligence gathering, crime prevention, and fostering a peaceful environment, which are fundamental to economic and social development.

He expressed his belief that the partnership would significantly bolster the security architecture of the state.
