Properties worth N36m destroyed by fire,19 died in Kano

The Properties worth N36 million have been destroyed by fire disaster that occurred in different parts of Kano State in the month of November, 2022 under review.

PFS Saminu Yusuf Abdullahi, Public Relations Officer, Kano State Fire Service made the disclosure in a statement, issued on Friday.

He similarly said 19 people lost their lives in the month, noting that within the month under review operatives of the Service saved properties worth N83 million.

He further said 71 people were successfully saved from different fire disasters that occurred the across the state.

Abdullahi stated that the Service during the period under review, across its 27 fire stations recieved 76 fire calls, 44 rescued calls and 16 false alarm.

“We will seize this opportunity to advise the general public to handle fire with care to avoid inferno, more especially during this harmattan period.

“I will like to enlighening the public on the dangers of bush burning. During this harmattan season, bush burning could lead to fire outbreak.”

“Our call to households and shop owners to always put electrical appliances off when not inuse to avoid fire outbreak.” PFS however stated.
