During a press briefing held at the Sani Abacha Stadium in Kano, CEO Abdullahi Garo emphasized that the media briefing was part of the series of activities leading up to the summit taking place in Kano.
Highlighting the uniqueness of the event, he mentioned that this would be the first time such a summit is held in Kano, as previous editions had been organized in Lagos. Garo explained that the decision to choose Kano as the venue was based on its reputation for housing prominent industrialists, businessmen, and potential investors.
Addressing the issue of low football sponsorship and partnership in Kano, despite the evident passion for the sport in the state, Garo stated that the purpose of the summit is to showcase the capabilities and potential of the NLO.
Additionally, he revealed that the NLO plans to host the inaugural edition of the NLO Cup in Kano, emphasizing that this event has never been organized in the city before. Garo reiterated the aim of the cup, which is to provide a platform for football sponsors to gain more information about the players and to highlight the diverse talent present within the NLO.
