Katsina Command of Nigeria Police says its Operatives have successfully rescued 5 kidnapped victims, at Unguwar Rinji, Ruwayau Village, Kurfi LGA of the state after a gun duel with suspected Terrorists.

SP Gambo Isah Command’s Public Relations Officer made this known in a statement, Monday.
He said on 12th December, 2022 at about 0200hrs, a distress call was received that terrorists in their numbers, shooting sporadically with AK 47 rifles, attacked Unguwar Rinji, Ruwayau village, Kurfi LGA and kidnapped one Alhaji Ali and four others.
He maintained that DPO Kurfi, led tactical teams and blocked their exist route.
Fortunately, he further maintained that the terrorists followed through the expected route.

“In the spur of the moment, the terrorists were engaged in a fierce gun duel and successfully repelled them.”
The PPRO revealed that the team succeeded in rescuing all the kidnap victims.
He added that in the course of scanning the scene, it was reasonably believe that many terrorists escaped the scene with gunshots wounds, noting that efforts is on with a view to arresting the hoodlums.
Similarly according to him, on 08th December, 2022 at about 1845hrs, based on credible intelligence, the Command succeeded in arresting two suspected terrorists and recovered eight (8) rustled cows and two (2) sheep.
“Nemesis caught up with the duo of one (1) Rabiu Umar, ‘M’, aged 25yrs of Salihawa village, Matazu LGA, and (2) Surajo Lawal, alias ‘ORI, ”M’, aged 30yrs of Rimin Kanwa village, in possession of eight (8) rustled cows and two (2) sheep at Gidan Kanya, Sukuntani village, Kankia, property of one Abubakar Amadu, ‘M’, of Tafashiya village, Kankia.”

He explained that in the course of investigation, suspects confessed to the commission of the offence and stated that on 30th November, 2022, they criminally conspired with the following terrorists (now at large) Bala Usman, M, of Gabace village Kankia, Samaila Sule, M, of Salihawa, Matazu, Idi Uba, M, of Kanwa village, Kankia and attacked the house of the victim with dangerous weapons and robbed him of the animals.
“All the rustled animals were recovered while effort is on top gear with a view of arresting the other members of the syndicate.
SP Isah further explained that investigation is ongoing.
