The Commissioner of Police Gombe State Command CP Oqua Etim, has directed all HODs, tactical commanders, and Divisional Police Officers to enforce the movement restrictions across the state from midnight (12 am) to 6 am.
ASP Mahid Muazu Abubakar, Police Public Relations Officer Gombe State command made this known in a statement issued, Wednesday.

He said the measure is necessary to maintain law and order, ensure public safety, and curb the rising cases of criminal activities in the state.
He further said “in light of this, the government has put restrictions in place to curb these criminal activities and protect the citizens.
“These restrictions are aimed at ensuring that individuals engaging in criminal activities are brought to justice and ensure that the Kalare and other criminal elements have no place in Gombe.
“As such, all residents are advised to cooperate with us and other security agencies and avoid unnecessary movements within the stipulated hours except those on essential services.” He stated.

He further stated that the the police command will work in collaboration with other security agencies to ensure strict compliance with the directive.
ASP Mahid called on the public to support the effort by reporting any suspicious individual or group seen moving within the restricted hours to the nearest security agency.

According to him, the Gombe State Police Command while assuring the public of its commitment to ensuring the safety and security of all residents in the state urged them to remain vigilant.
