Police Arrest Two Suspects for Alleged Kidnapping, Murder, Burial of Six-Year-Old in Adamawa

The Adamawa State Police Command has arrested two suspected kidnappers who allegedly conspired to abduct a six-year-old child named Eboka Edwin.

The suspects took the child to a forest located across the border between Nigeria and Cameroon.

Tragically, they stabbed him to death and buried his lifeless body in a shallow grave.

Even after committing this heinous act, they continued to demand a ransom from the grieving parents

SP Suleiman Yahaya Nguroje, Adamawa Police Public Relations Officer in a statement issued on Friday said the State Police Command, On 08th May, 2024 received report from Edwin Eze a resident of Tudun Wada in Ganye LGA, that on the same date at about 1:00am Kidnappers envaded his House situated at Tudun Wada village, Ganye LGA and Kidnapped his 6 year old Son Eboka Edwin to unknown destination.

He added that the kidnappers later called via GSM and demanded Ten Million Naira (N10,000,000) as ransom.

He maintained that the suspects equally demanded and rreceived  N152 000 from the complainant for the victim’ s feeding fee.

“On the strength of that, the Commissioner of Police, Adamawa State Command, CP Dankombo Morris,, raised detectives led by SP Mohammed Yahaya Nuhu, Divisional Police officer,(DPO) Ganye to rescue the victim and arrest the Suspects.

“The team immediately swung into action and arrested two Suspects, Muktar Mohammed, aged 20 years old and Hussein Suleiman, aged , 20 years, all residents of Bashin Village, Yoro local Government Area, Taraba State.”

SP Nguroje explained that during preliminary investigations, the suspects confessed that he conspired and jointly kidnapped the victim to a forest lying across the border between Nigeria and Cameroon Republic.

They added that they killed the Victim by inflicting severe injuries on him using a knife, he bleeds until he becomes dead.

Thereafter, they buried the Corpse in a shallow grave and kept demanding for ransom, until their arrest.

“While the CP commiserates with the deceased family on the unfortunate incident, reaffirms the Command’s commitment to combating all forms of crime.

The CP assured that the suspects would be investigated and deligently prosecuted.
