Katsina Command Command of Nigeria Police says it has successfully apprehended a suspected one Jibrin Yusuf a suspected rapist and killer of an 8-year-old girl.
ASP Abubakar Sadiq Aliyu, Police Public Relations Officer, Katsina Command made this known at a press briefing.
He said, Yusuf, 25, a resident of old of Kanon-Haki village Faskari LGA, alleged to have been committed the heinous act on on August 2, 2023, at about 1430hrs.

He further said that “the fact of the case is, on that faithful day, one Hassan Jibrin, ‘m’, the father of the late victim employed the services of the suspect to convey fertilizer from one of his farm to the other situated at the outskirt of the village while the victim was assign to guard the fertilizer at one of the farms while her father attend to some labourers which the suspect took advantage of and forcefully draged the little girl to a nearby farm where he allegedly raped her, used a sharp knife and slaughtered the her.”

“He further moved the corpse to another farmland, covered it with leaves and made away with three (3) bags of fertilizer.” He further said
He explained that upon receipt of the report, promptly detectives swung into action and succeeded in arresting the suspect.
He revealed that during the course of investigation, the suspect confessed to the commission of offence as the three stolen bags of fertilizers were also recovered.
The Command Spokesperson similarly said on 12th July, 2023, at about 1200hrs based on credible intelligence, the command succeeded in arresting the duo of one (1) Mohammed Bello alias Dan Ali, ‘m’, of Sabon Gari, Ikara LGA Kaduna State, and one (2) Abubakar Mohammed, ‘m’, of Kumbotso LGA, Kano State, suspected notorious informants to bandits.

He stressed stated thet on July 12, 2023, the duo allegedly conspired, deceived, and lured their friend one Salmanu, to a point between funtua and Zamfara state where they planned with one Gora, a notorious bandits leader hibernating in Zamfara forest and kidnap the victim.
“In the course of investigation, the duo were traced and arrested in connection with the offence where they confessed to the commission of the offence. Investigation is ongoing.”
He added that on 7th July, 2023 at about 0700hrs while on routine patrol, the command succeeded in arresting one Sadiq Abdullahi, ‘m’, aged 22years old of Rafin-dadi quarters, Katsina, a suspected notorious motorcycle thief.
He added that nemesis caught up with the suspect when he was accosted by men of the command’s Anti-kidnapping Unit (AKU) while on routine patrol along Katsina – Jibia road, in possession of a suspected stolen white Jing cheng motorcycle (rubber rubber).

He pointed out during the course of investigation the suspect confessed to have stolen the said motorcycle from Gafai quarters, Katsina, belonging to one Ahmad Lawal Babaye, ‘m’, of the same address.
“He further mentioned one Surajo Sani, ‘m’, of Magamar Jibia, as the receiver of his stolen items, one Sani Abba alias Uban shegu, ‘m’, of Kofar-Yandaka quarters, Katsina, and one Hamisu Mamman, ‘ m’, as his abettors. The Investigation is ongoing.” He stated.
