Police Operatives in Jigawa state Command have arrested five armed robbery suspects and recovered motorcycle in their possession
A statement by DSP Lawan Shiisu Adam, Police Public Relations Officer, Jigawa State Police Command.
He said on 09th July,2023 at about 2000hrs, one Ashiru Musa ‘m’ age 24yrs of Kyaran village Dutse LGA, reported that on the same date at about 1830hrs while riding his motorcycle around Rafawa to Darau Mallam Musa Road, Dutse LGA.

“He inquired of the cyclist to lead him to Karnaya village, but unfortunately, the said cyclists forced him to stop, threatened him with knives, and robbed him of his motorcycle boxer red in color with reg no. AYE 918 UP Ogun State.”
“On receipt of the report, the patrol team attached to Fanisau Division swiftly swung into action with the assistance of hunters and arrested one Tijjani Haruna ‘m’ age 19yrs, and one Baballe Abdulrahman ‘m’ age 25yrs, all of Gyabiya village Dutse LGA.”

DSP Shiisu noted that on interrogation, suspects confessed to the offense allegedly against them, while the knives, cable, and robbed motorcycle were found in their possession.
He stated that the Suspects will be charged to court for prosecution upon completion of the investigation.
In another development, according to the PPRO, following a tip-off, on 1st July, 2023 at about 2200hrs, a team of Policemen from Ringim Division with the help of a Local Vigilante arrested one Ahmadu Audu ‘m’ age 20yrs, one Shuaibu Bayeri ‘m’ age 20yrs, one Samaila Musa ‘m’ age 20yrs, all of Majiyawar Kirdau village, Ringim LGA for alleged criminal conspiracy, armed robbery and causing grievous hurt.
He added that during the investigation, suspects confessed to have snatched numerous motorcycles at Ringim LGA and neighboring LGAs.
“They also mentioned other gang members as well as the receiver in Gezawa LGA of Kano State.

“Upon discreet investigation, all the suspects will be charged to court, to face the full wrath of the law.” He further stated.
