Police arrest 2 armed robbery suspects in Gombe

Gombe Command of Nigeria Police has said that its operatives attached to Tunfure Division have successfully arrested two suspects Joshua Dogo, 27, and Mu’azu Abdullahi, 22 over armed robbery of Bajaj motorcycle.

ASP Mahid Muazu Abubakar, Police Public Relations Officer, Gombe State Command in a statement.

He said on 17th April, 2023 at about 16:00hrs the Command while responding to a distress call arrested two suspects Joshua Dogo ‘M’ 27 years old and Muazu Abdullahi ’ M’22 years old both of Gombe Town.

He further said on the same date at about 1530hrs the duo criminally conspired among themselves and allegedly attacked one Abubakar Usman ‘M’ 18yrs old of Garin Barde via Kwami LGA with a pistol and a knife and robbed him of his Bajaj Motorcycle.

“On receipt of the complaint, a team of policemen attached to the Tunfure Division were drafted to the scene and arrested the two suspects.”

He added that following exhibits were recovered,
pistol, Knife and one motorcycle.

He noted that investigation is ongoing and the case will soon be charged to court.

Similarly, he pointed out that on 16th April, 2023 at about 23:00hrs, teams of operation hattara while on visibility patrol around Malam inna quarters apprehended three suspects named Muazu Abubakar ’M’ 18years, Auwal Saleh ‘M’ 18years and Walid Muhammed ’M’ 17 years all armed with dangerous weapons.

“The suspects confessed to have robbed the residents of the area of their valuables and inflicted bodily injuries on several victims.”

ASP Mahid added that one cutlass was recovered as an exhibit, noting that case is under investigation and will soon be charged to court for prosecution.
