Barrister Ahmad Abubakar Gwadabe has been sworn in as the new chairman of the Nigerian Bar Association (NBA), Ungogo Branch.

Addressing the journalists shortly after the inauguration ceremony, Gwadabe expressed his appreciation to all members of the branch for reposing their confidence in him to steer the affairs of the branch over the next two years.

Barrister Gwadabe then unveiled a seven-point agenda to promote legal practice within the branch.

The agenda includes promoting the rule of law, member welfare, strengthening cordial relationships with key stakeholders, and infrastructural development, among other priorities.

He emphasized that the branch, under his leadership, will make concerted efforts to establish an office like its Kano counterpart.

In his speech, the immediate past chairman of the branch, Muhammad Jibril, lauded the branch members for giving him the opportunity to lead for two years.

During his tenure, he explained that the branch diligently discharged its responsibilities, including acquiring secretariat facilities such as a new computer set, printer, and scanner.

Additionally, he revealed that the branch attended the National Executive Council (NEC) meetings twice.

Mr. Jibril extended his best wishes to the new leadership.

The NBA Ungogo Branch’s new leadership includes Ahmad Abubakar Gwadabe (Chairman), Aminu Muhammad Gabari (Vice Chairman), MM Bello (Secretary), M.A Annas (Assistant Secretary), Fatima Aliyu Chabir (Financial Secretary), and Hajara Safiyo Hamza.

Other members of the leadership team include: Jazirah Ahmad Bello (Welfare Secretary), Kamalu Hamisu (Social Secretary), Ahmad Kamilu Paki (Publicity Secretary), and A.A Olugbenga (Provost).
