Excitement and joy filled the air at Bayero University Kano on a lively Saturday, as Class of 2025 alumni reunited from across the country to celebrate two decades since their graduation.
He lauded other members of his team, who worked tirelessly to achieve the dream of organizing the event.
He further commended the entire lecturers from various faculties describing the event as successful one.
In his welcome address, the Class Chairman, Abdullahi Muhammad Fagge, expressed his happiness with the unity and cooperation demonstrated by members, which made the reunion possible.

He praised the dedication of his team members, who worked tirelessly to bring the vision of the event to life.

He also commended the lecturers from various faculties, describing the event as a truly successful occasion.
In his remarks, Professor Jika Jiddere, a lecturer from the Department of Political Science, shared his heartfelt joy:
“Let me affirm, from the bottom of my heart and on behalf of the entire BUK community, from the Vice Chancellor to the cleaners, we are more proud of you than you are of us.
“I see your 20-year reunion like a mother who has missed her daughter for two decades, and suddenly receives a phone call telling her that her missing daughter has been found.
“There is no better way to show appreciation to us and to BUK than by coming back for this reunion. We truly value you.”
Professor Jiddere emphasized that every teacher hopes to see their students excel beyond them.
“We want to see you grow into something greater than we are,” he added.
Professor Jiddire stated, “I believe you have come and witnessed the tremendous achievements BUK has recorded since your graduation and it is all thanks to the Alumni. We are all Alumni, and BUK is our Alma Mater.”
Also speaking, Minister of State for the FCT, Dr. Mariya Mahmoud Bunkure, who is a member of the class, remarked, “It’s truly not easy, 20 years after graduation, to come back and see your classmates attending lectures together.”

Represented by her Chief of Staff, Dr. Abdullahi Kauran Mata, she advised members of the class to take care of their health through regular exercise and proper nutrition.

She further urged the class members to diversify their income sources, rather than relying solely on salaries or wages, considering the competitive environment and scarce resources.
In her presentation titled “Back to Where It Began: Discovering Leadership, Purpose, and Friendship,” a member of the class, Dr. Halima Abdulqadir Idris, encouraged participants to stay informed, fearless, and courageous in order to succeed in life.
She emphasized that while life is full of challenges, one can overcome them by staying committed to their vision and mission, without allowing distractions to deter them.

Prior to the commencement of the event, members participated in a health walk that began at the Musa Abdullahi Auditorium Hall, proceeded along the main road within the campus, and concluded at the same auditorium.
