The Nigeria Union of Journalists, (NUJ) Kano Council has applauded Kano state Government over the recent formation of mobile courts to sentence phone robbers to imprisonment without options of fines.
In a communique issued at the end of monthly congress of the Council held at NUJ Press Center jointly signed by comrade Abbas Ibrahim and Comrade Abba Murtala chairman and Secretary respectively, the Union called on concerned authorities to check the menace of underaged persons driving vehicles in the state
The Congress further called on Government and other stakeholders to provide ways and means to cushion the effects of the fuel subsidy withdrawal on the public.
In the Communique, the Council urged the communities in the state to clear drainages and desist from the act of indiscriminate dumping of refuse to forestall any impending flood.

The Congress congratulated Abba Kabir Yusuf as Governor of Kano state and called on him to strengthen his relationship with the media through improved access to information.
