The Oba Yoruba Kano, Alhaji Murtala Alimi Otisese has urged Journalists to continue advocating for peace, stressing that no society can developed, socially, economically and politically without peaceful coexistence.
He made the assertion at fasting breakfast meeting with some Kano Journalists, held at his Palace.
He said Nigerians can only enjoy the dividend of being together if there peace.
“There was series of agitations over the recent elections, conducted recently in Nigeria. But we thank God, with a lot of hope and prayers it has come and gone peacefully.
“I want you to continue praying and navigating well, the more we pray the more peace ensued in Kano and Nigeria at large.
On behalf of all Yoruba Community both Muslims and Christians living in Kano appreciate you for all the support and cooperation we’re receiving from media in Kano. This is really commendable,” Otisese added.
Earlier speaking, the leader of the delegation, Comrade Lurwanu Idris Malikawa, Garu a vice president of SWAN said the fasting breakfast meeting with Oba Yoruba Kano will strenghen already established relationship between Journalists and Oba Yoruba Kano.

He described the oba as progressive who always want to bring happiness in the mind of people as assist his subject to pursue education at different level.
Malikawa however applauded the Oba Yoruba Kano, Murtala Alimi for sponsoring Inter Community football competition by Sport Writers Association, (SWAN) Kano Branch, to promote peace.
Justice Watch News observed that presentation of 2023 SWAN Almanac by Chairman of SWAN, Kano, Zaharaddeen Saleh to Alhaji Murtala Alimi Otisese was among highlight of the meeting.
