Kano State Council of the Nigeria Union of Journalists, (NUJ) has stated its mission to partner with ‘Know Your Neighbor’ Community Development Initiative, a non governmental organisation, (NGO) to address insecurity in the state.
The Chairman of the Council, Comrade Sulaiman Abdullahi when he hosted the NGO during a courtesy visit, expressed his commitment to organize a workshop, bringing together members of both organizations, stressing that the workshop will focus on raising awareness and educating participants on the importance of collective efforts in combating insecurity.

Speaking earlier, the Executive Director of the Know Your Neighbor Community Development Initiative, Comrade Muhammad Sani Garba, highlighted the purpose of the visit as a gesture of goodwill and to congratulate the new leadership of the Kano State Council of the Nigeria Union of Journalists on their recent election.
He explained that the NGO make a collaboration
with security agencies to promote awareness within local communities on the significance of understanding and engaging with neighbors for enhanced security measures.

Furthermore, Comrade Garba mentioned the ongoing partnerships with various stakeholders from both public and private sectors to drive community development initiatives, promote good governance, and ensure efficient service delivery to the citizens.
He extended his congratulations and well wishes to the Chairman and executive members of the Kano State Council of the Nigeria Union of Journalists, urging them to continue their dedicated service in fulfilling their essential role.
