The Jigawa State Command of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) has secured the conviction of four (4) Vandals before Justice Hassan Dikko of Dutse Division of the Federal high Court on 2 counts charge of Criminal Conspiracy and Tampering with Electric plants.
The convicts include: Rabi’u Alto, Haruna Mustapha, Yahaya Rabi’u and Ibrahim Isah.

They were jailed after pleading guilty to the 2 counts charge and in view of their plea, the lead prosecutor Abdulkadir Lurwanu Fanini of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) prayed the Court to convict and sentence them accordingly.

Justice Dikko thereafter, convicted and sentenced them to one and half year or to pay a fine of 50,000 for the first count and 2 years or to pay a fine of 60,000 for the second count.
The trial judge, equally ordered the convicts to fix the vandalized cable at the area where it was removed under the supervision of the village head of the area and the NSCDC.
According to a statement by CSC Adamu Shehu, CDPRO Jigawa State Command issued on Wednesday, said the convicts’ journey to the Correctional Centre began when they were arrested by operatives of the Jigawa State Command of the NSCDC on 9th day of February, 2023 at Babura town, Babura Local Government Area of Jigawa State on the process of vandalizing 70 meter electric cable that was planted at Titin Tanda, Akula Quarters, Babura Local Government Area of Jigawa State.

He noted that they were subsequently prosecuted by the Corps and convicted by the Court.
