NSCDC Operatives Apprehend Over 50 Suspects in Kano

Operatives of the Nigerian Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) in Kano Command have apprehended over 50 individuals at Bachirawa market in Ungogo Local Government Area (LGA) of Kano State.

Commandant Muhammad Lawal Falala of the NSCDC made this known while parading the suspects during a press briefing held at the Command’s Headquarters, Zaria Road, Kano.

According to Commandant Falala, the intelligence report revealed that the market had become a hub for drug abuse and illegal joint activities, where various social vices were being committed.

He stated that in response to the report, the command placed the market under surveillance, particularly during night time.

He also stated, “After gathering detailed information about the illicit activities occurring in the market, our operatives conducted a raid, resulting in the successful arrest of over 50 suspects.”

“The arrested individuals are allegedly involved in criminal activities such as receiving stolen property and terrorizing the local residents in the area known as the “black spot joint.”

Commandant Falala emphasized that the suspects were apprehended at night after the shops had closed.

He assured that the operatives would continue their raids to maintain security.

Furthermore, he pledged that the suspects would be arraigned in court once the investigation is concluded.
