The Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) has said that Six (6) motorcycle thieves that specialized in violently attacking and snatching motor bikes belonging to unsuspecting members of the public around Gurin Gawa and Bechi areas of Kumbotso local government have been arrested and are in custody of the Corps
SC Ibrahim Idris Abdullahi, Civil Defence Public Relations Officer, PRO Kano command made this known in a statement.

He said investigation is on going for necessary legal action.
SC Ibrahim maintained that the suspects are: Najib Lawal ‘M’ 25yrs, Bashir Bello Idris ‘M’ 34yrs, Lawan Yakubu ‘M’ 27yrs, Kabiru Garba ‘M’ 29yrs, Hussain Hassan ‘M’ 24yrs and Mubarak Basiru ‘M’ 21yrs.
“Two members of the gang are at large and a serious manhunt has been launched to apprehend them.”

“Two of the suspects, Mubarak Basiru and Hussain Hassan had earlier on the 14th January,2025 around 0300hrs forcefully broken into Malam Abdullahi Bala house at Gurin Gawa, Kumbotso local government assaulted him and eventually made away with his bike. With the assistance of vigilante members and men of the Corps, Kumbotso division, the 2 attackers were successfully nabbed.”
He noted that Four additional suspects, among whom 2 stolen motorcycle receivers are all in NSCDC net.
He added that moreover, two (2) motor bikes have so far been recovered with investigation being intensified to recover more.

Commandant Mohammed Lawal Falala, the Corps helmsman in Kano has since directed the Armed squad unit of the command to mobilize operatives for routine patrols around Eastern bypass to ward off criminals attack in the area and other places in the metropolis.
