New Jigawa Commissioner of Police, CP Abdullahi, Assumes Office

The Jigawa State Command of Nigeria Police has said that sequel to the promotion of Commissioner of Police, Jigawa State Police Command, CP Effiom Emmanuel Ekot to the substantive rank of Assistant Inspector General of Police (AIG) and his subsequent redeployment to the office of the National Security Adviser (ONSA) Federal Capital Territory, Abuja the Inspector General of Police, IGP Kayode Adeolu Egbetokun, has approved the appointment of a new Commissioner of Police, Jigawa State Police Command, CP Ahmadu Tijjani Abdullahi to oversee the affairs of the Command.

DSP Shiisu Lawan Adam Command’s Spokesperson made this known in a statement on Monday.

He said CP AT Abdullahi was born in Kano Municipal Local Government Area of Kano State.

He was enlisted into the Nigeria Police Force as Cadet Assistant Superintendent of Police (C3/ 92) and trained at Police Academy, Annex Kaduna, from 1992 to 1993.

He holds a Masters degree in Public Policy Administration (MPPA) in 2005 from Bayero University, Kano (BUK).

CP AT Abdullahi served as Patrol and Guard (P&G), Divisional Crime Officer (DCO), Divisional Traffic Officer (DTO), and Divisional Police Officer (DPO) in various Divisional Police Headquarters in some states of the federation which includes, Kebbi and Katsina State Command respectively.

Other positions he held previously include:

Admin Officer (AO) at Zonal CID, Zone 7 Police Headquarters, Abuja.

Officer in charge of Finance, Kano State Command.

Mechanized Salary Section (MSS), Kano State Command.

Political Section, State Criminal Investigation Department (SCID), Kano State Command.

Second in Command (2ic), Department of Operations, Jigawa State Command.

Assistant Commissioner of Police, Department of Finance and Administration (DFA), Zone 1 Kano Police Headquarters.

Assistant Commissioner of Police, Department of Operations, Kaduna State Command.

Deputy Commissioner of Police, Department of Operations, Ogun State Command.

Deputy Commissioner of Police, in charge of Procurement Force Headquarters, Abuja.

Commissioner of Police, Procurement Force Headquarters, Abuja, From where he was transferred to Jigawa State Command as 23rd Commissioner of Police.

The new Commissioner of Police attended numerous professional courses, seminars, and workshops which include but not limited to the following;

Advanced Detective Course, Police Staff College Jos, (ADC).

Intermediate Command Course, Police Staff College Jos, (ICC).

Police Community Policing, (CPP).

Strategic Leadership and Command Course, Police Staff College Jos, (SLCC).

Procurement Conversion Course, Bureau of Public Procurement, (BPP).

Workshop on Implementation of e-Governmrnt Procurement in Nigeria.

He is a Member of, the Institute of Operations Management of Nigeria, ( IOMN)

Member, Association of Public Procurement Practitioners of Nigeria, (APPON).

With this wealth of experience, strategic plans, and commitment to collaborative efforts, the Jigawa State Police Command is confident that, under the leadership of the new Commissioner of Police, the security situation in the state will improve significantly.

Also, the Command is poised to create a safe and secure environment for all residents of the state.

The CP solicits maximum cooperation, support and collaboration with Security Agencies, Traditional Rulers, Religious Leaders and other Relevant Stakeholders to partner with Police in sharing Intelligence gathering for combating crime and criminality within and outside the State.
