NCoS Inaugurates Parole Board in Kano

The Controller of Corrections Kano State Command Suleiman  M Inuwa  has inuguarated the State Parole Board at the State Headquarters office Kano.

In his remarks, the Controller explained that Parole is the temporary release of inmates who have served 1/3 of the sentence with good behavior and positive change of attitude.

A statement issued  on Monday  by SC Musbahu Lawan Kofar Nassarawa, Corrections  Public Relations Officer Kano Command, said under the Parole, the inmates are released to continue their sentence outside with the promise to be of good behavior.

The Board comprises various Stakeholders drawn from different professions.

The Controller urged the committee to be steadfast in discharging their assignment in line with the Correctional Service Act 2019 and global best practices.

The Chairman of the Parole board Justice A.T Badamasi (Rtd) thanked the Service for selecting and entrusting them with this national assignment.

He promised that they will discharge the responsibility with dedication, diligence and patriotism towards achieving the desire objectives.
