The Lamido Akko Alhaji Umar Muhammad Atiku has called on the people of Akko Emirate to desist from spreading rumors that can lead to violence.
The monarch made the call while addressing newsmen in Kumo, the headquarters of Akko Local Government Council after casting his vote at Galadima 002 polling unit.
He said the law empowers only INEC to announce election results stressing that, that should be respected, by the people.
He warned those sharing results not released by the electoral body to stop, in order not to mislead people, explaining that INEC is the only body given the power under the law to announce election results.
The Emir also advised politicians not to heat the polity by making comments that could lead to violence in Akko Emirate and the state at large.
Alhaji Umar Atiku commended security agents in Gombe state for their efforts at sustaining peace before, during and after the election.
