The Kano State House of Assembly has pledged to work with media organizations in the state to keep public abreast on legislative proceedings.
The Chairman House Committee on Information, Hon Shuaibu Rabi’u made this known during a courtesy visit to the Commissioner of Information, Comrade Baba Halilu Dantiye as part of the committee’s efforts to cement the already existed cordial working relations with media stakeholders in the State.

Hon Shuaibu Rabi’u said considering the exalted role of the media couple with modern technological and information development it had became highly imperative to undertake such visitations.
He appealed to the Commissioner as a professional to maintain the tempo in terms of accurate, timely, balance and objective reporting of events as a means of reawakening the public on the programs projects and policies of the incumbent government especially on Education, Health, Agriculture, Human resource development and many more for the overall benefits of the people of the state.

He further stressed exceptional roles of media to the democratic principles, participations and democratic survival.

While responding the Commissioner of Information Comrade Baba Halilu Dantiye thanks the House Committee on Information for the visitation and assured them that the Ministry would engages with all relevant media industry in updating the people of the State on all matters related to the betterment of Kano State.
He commended their foresight on their visitation,thereby assuring them that Media in Kano would identified with government in power to move the State forwards.
In a related development, the Committee had paid a similar visit to the State Radio Corporation where they intimate the Managing Director on the way forward to have a best State of the arts facilities and most efficient and effective service delivery to the listeners of Radio Kano.
The Committee promised to work with Radio Kano for the revival of the station
Responding the Managing Director, Comrade Hisham Habibu, thanks the Committee for the visit and assured them that he would accord them all necessary cooperation to salvage the station and uplift it’s standard of global best practice of broadcast journalism.
He also canvas their support in terms of patronage and many more.
