One Ibrahim Adamu, 50, has been apprehended by Jigawa Police Command for alleged to have stabbed his 4-year-old stepson, Salmanu Umar to death.
DSP Lawan Shiisu Adam Jigawa State Command Spokesperson made the disclosure in a statement issued on Thursday.

He said on 8th Aug. 2023 at about 2130hrs, an ugly information was received from Unguwar Dinya in Roni LGA of Jigawa state, that on the same date at about 1942hrs, one Salmanu Umar ‘m’ age 4yrs of Unguwar Dinya village was seen with a deep cut on his throat , done by unknown person, with the blood all over his body.
He also said on receiving the report, a team of detectives led by Divisional Police Officer, Roni Division, rushed to the scene of crime and conveyed the victim to General Hospital Kazaure for treatment, later died while receiving treatment.

He stated that on investigation, one Ibrahim Adamu ‘m’ age 50yrs of Unguwar Dinya village Roni LGA, who is a husband to the decease’s mother, was arrested in connection with the case.
“On interrogation at SCID Dutse, suspect confessed to the commission of the offence, he further revealed that, he developed hatred on the deceased right from domain, due to the fact that, he cannot afford to be feeding someone’s child.”
“He also added that, he attempted to kill the child for the first time, but the attempt was foiled by the decease’s mother as she reported him to her in-law.” DSP Shiisu further stated
He noted that Suspect already arraigned in court to face the full weight of the law.
In another development, he maintained that on 13th Aug. 2023 at about 2130hrs, Policemen attached to Hadejia ‘A’ Division conducted raid at all black spots and criminal hideouts in Hadejia LGA.

“In the process one Ucheh Peter ‘m’ age 36yrs of Sabon Gari village K/Hausa LGA, was arrested in possession of two hundred and forty (240) pieces of Triple Red Sun Solution suspected to be hard drug.”
“On interrogation, suspect confessed that, he bought the same from one shop, when search was conducted in the said shop, the owner of the shop was fled to unknown destination.”
DSP Shiisu added that effort to arrest him is on top gear, meanwhile the suspect will be charged to court for prosecution upon completion of investigation.
