The Commissioner of Police Gombe State Command, CP Ishola Babatunde says the officers in charge of investigation had successfully arrested one Mr Hyelni Danlami Buba aged 48yrs of behind Dunamis church Gwarimpa, Abuja who allegedly collected the sum of N1.5M from one Jacob Mshelia of Tumfure quarters Gombe.
CP Ishola Babatunde, made this known while briefing journalists in continuation of the Command’s crime update, held at the police headquarters, Gombe.
According to the CP, the suspect confessed to have collected the said amount from the complainant and will soon be charged to court.
He used the opportunity to commend all political parties in the state for conducting themselves peacefully, urging them to sustain the tempo as primaries and electioneering campaigns are approaching.
The CP also warned parents to keep a proper monitoring of their wards, lamenting that some politicians engaging children for political thuggery, stressing that the command will not take it lightly on any one found guilty of breach of peace and order in the state.
CP Ishola, however, pledged to ensure the protection of lives and property in line with the mandate of the Police by adopting “result-yielding approaches” to fight crime in Gombe state.
