Man, 31, arrested for allegedly cheating POS operator in Gombe

Gombe Police Command on Tuesday apprehended one Mustapha Adam Usman, 31, over alleged being in possession of materials for counterfeit and cheating Point Of Sale (POS) operator the sum of N50,000.

Parading the suspect during a press briefing held at Gombe command Headquarters, ASP Mahid Mu’azu Abubakar said Usman a residents of Shagari Quarters, Kano was arrested following a complaint from one Mannir Mohammed, m, of Pantami quarters Gombe.

“On the 27July, 2022 at about 1130hrs one Mannir Mohammed ‘m’ of Pantami quarters Gombe, who is a POS operator reported at Pantami division that on the same date at about 0900hrs the suspect, Mustapha Adam Usman, came to his shop located at Abubakar Habu Hashidu street GRA Gombe and asked the complainant to deposit the sum of Fifty thousand naira (N50,000.00) in the following account 3177928913 domicile at First bank bearing the name of one Manu Ibrahim ‘m’ and gave him the two wrappers of counterfeit money and left the shop telling him that he will come back and complete the transaction,

“Only for the complainant to discover that the wrappers are not money but papers which are recovered as exhibit,”

He explained that the case transferred to State Criminal Investigation Department (SCID) for discrete investigation and will soon be charged to court for prosecution.
