A Kano State High Court presided over by Justice Nasiru Saminu has sentenced one Sulaiman Abdullahi to death by hanging for a culpable homicide.

Abdullahi, 27, of Matamaye village, Niger Republic was on 9th April, 2017 had a misunderstanding with the deceased, one Yahaya Badamasi 30 years old of Kofar Nassarawa quarters, Kano over seven hundred naira (N700.00) which resulted in physical fight, and on the process the convict brought out a sharp scissors and stabbed the deceased on his neck.

The deceased was quickly rushed to Murtala Muhammed Specialist Hospital but later died while receiving treatment and the suspect arrested by the police of Kwalli division.
The Court found the defendant guilty for the offence of culpable homicide contrary to section 221 (b) of the penal code, laws of Kano State 1991 and punishable with death under same law.
