One Mohammed Bayero,19, has been arrested by Gombe State Command of Nigeria Police in connection to the alleged possession of counterfeit US dollar note 45 pieces of $100 note denomination.
ASP Mahid Mua’zu Abubakar, Gombe Command’s Spokesperson made this known in a statement.
He said Adamu, a resident of London maidorawa area of shamaki ward Gombe LGA, Gombe State was arrested upon a complaint by one Adamu Ibrahim of London Dorawa.
“That on the 27th June, 2022 at about 1100hrs one Adamu Mohammed ‘m’ aged 22yrs of Pantami Quarters Gombe, reported at the SCID Gombe that two suspects Danladi Abdullahi aged 30yrs and Bello Garba aged 20yrs both ‘m’ of Jauro Musa kumo via Akko LGA Gombe State were found in possession of fake naira note N1000 denomination.”
Mahid, Maintained that, during the course of investigation the said suspect revealed that the counterfeit notes belong to one, alias Garke (FNU) who is still at large.
He further stated that the case will be charged to court as effort was emplaced to arrest the fleeing suspect.
Similarly, on the same vein, ASP Mahid revealed that the command has successfully arrested two suspects over the alleged being in possession of counterfeit currency naira note.
Acccording to him, the suspects include: Danladi Abdullahi ‘m’ aged 30yrs Bello Garba ‘m’ aged 20yrs all of Jauro, Musa kumo via Akko LGA Gombe State.
He stated that on receipt of the information, detectives from Anti fraud SCID State headquarters, Gombe arrested the suspects in possession of the fake naira note currency.
He further stated that the case will soon be charged to court for prosecution when investigation was completed.
He added that the Commissioner of Police assured the citizens of Gombe State that the Police Command is committed to their security and that all criminal cases would transparently be investigated and charge to court to uphold the cause of justice and
He also re-assured members of the general public, especially the citizens of Gombe State and visitors alike that the adequate security measures in collaboration with other security agencies has been put in place to ensure peaceful Eid-el kabir Sallah celebration.
