Land Grab: Court Orders Ungogo Chair, Applicant to maintain Status Quo

Kano State High Court presided over by Justice Jamilu Shehu Suleiman has restrained Alhaji Abdullahi Garba Ramat, Executive Chairman, Ungogo LGA, Kano and two other Respondents, from taking any further action in a farm belonging to Alhaji Dauda Ibrahim, (Applicant), pending the hearing and determination of motion on notice.

Other Respondents in the suit  No:K/235/2022 including: Lawan Sada Dambatta, Ungogo Local Government, Land Officer and Garba Bilyaminu Surveyor of the Local Government.

In an exparte application dated March 2, filed by counsel to the applicant and accompanied by four paragraphs affidavit deposed to by one Kabiru Sani a litigation clerk of the law firm of M.A Abdussalam and Co contained written address in support of the application.

similarly in the application, Certificate of Occupancy, letter of grant and sales agreement between original land allottee and Alhaji Dauda Ibrahim were attached as exhibits.

The defendant through his counsel, prayed the court to restrain the Defendants from further grabbing his farm.

In his ruling, Justice Suleiman ordered that all parties in the suit to maintain status
quo, until the hearing and determinaon of the the motion on notice.
