In its bid to reposition the lives of inmates in custodial centres in Kano State, the State Government has pledged continuous support towards improving the health and welfare of inmates in custodial centre in the State.
Speaking at a ceremony, the Executive Secretary of the Kano State Contributory Healthcare Management Agency (KSCHMA), Dr Rahila Aliyu Muktar, announced the allocation of monthly capitation of a total of Eight Hundred and Fifty Two Thousand, Four Hundred Naira (#852,400.00) to support medical services for inmates in custodial centres in the State.
Dr Rahila expressed her gratitude to the State Government under the leadership of Abba Kabir Yusuf for his readiness in supporting vulnerable people like inmates in custody.
She appreciated the Kano command of the Nigerian Correctional Service for its support and cooperation, saying that the State is the Pioneer in providing healthcare solution to inmates through enrollment in its healthcare management scheme.

The Controller of Corrections, Kano State Command, Ado Inuwa, appreciated the State Government for the unwavering support for the enrollment of inmates under the healthcare services while they are in custody.

He assured that the funds will be utilized judicially for covering essential treatment and emergency medical care.

According to statement by CSC Musbahu Lawan K/Nasarawa Public Relations Officer Kano State, the Controller appreciated the Executive Secretary of KSCHMA for her zeal, determination and commitment to humanity, more especially for inmates in custody.
