KNSG identifies challenges bedeviling cemeteries – Kachako

Kano State government says it has identified major challenges bedeviling cemeteries in kano metropolis.

The chairman of the committee also the Commissioner, Ministry of Rural and Community Development Alh. Hamza Safiyanu Kachako stated this shortly after receiving reports from team leaders who went round the cemeteries.

He said the exercise identified lack of proper fencing, drainages, security lights, boreholes, security guards and their working facilities.

Alh.Hamza Safiyanu Kachako added that the ministy will forward the report to Governor Abba Kabir for his approval.

He then assured kano state government commitments towards upgrading the condition of the cemeteries.

The commissioner warned people to avoid dumping of refuse in the cemeteries.

Among the visited sites are Gama cemetery, that of Unguwa Uku, Tarauni and court road respectively.

Others are Gandun Albasa, Dan Agundi and Hauren Shanu cemetery of Gwale local government area.

Recalls that flood had recently washed away unspecified number of corpses in many cemeteries within Kano Metropolis.
