Operatives of the Katsina State Police Command attached to Bakori divisional police headquarters, in collaboration with members of the vigilante led by the DPO, have successfully identified and apprehended five (5) suspects, allegedly stole firearms from the residence of complainant.

He stated that the arrest was pursuant to the ongoing fight against all forms of crime and criminality in the state, noting that they suspects were arrested on December 19, 2023, based on credible intelligence
He identified the suspects as Sharhabilu Dahiru, m., age 20 years old, Abubakar Tukur, m., age 25 years, Kasamanu Abdullahi, m., age 20 years Abdulrahman Shu’aibu, age 20 years old, and Sulaiman Sanusi, m, age 20 years, all of Kakumi village, Bakori LGA,

He explained that while on an intelligence-led patrol along Kakumi area of Bakori LGA, Katsina state, the suspects were arrested in possession of an AK 47 rifle.

He added that upon questioning, the suspects promptly confessed to having stolen the said firearm from the residence of one Jamilu Lawal, alias “Kifda,” of the same address.”
“Due to the seriousness of the crime committed, Mr. Lawal was immediately invited for further investigation to shed more light on the circumstances leading to his possession of the prohibited firearm.”
He confirmed that all suspects are in custody as the investigation proceeds.
He urged the good people of the state to remain vigilant and report any suspicious criminal activities they may observe.

According to ASP Aliyu, the Commissioner of Police reiterated the command’s commitment towards ensuring the safety and security of lives and property of the good people of the state and further praised their usual and continuous support for the command and other security agencies in the state.
