Muhammad, who received the entourage with open arms, described the visit as timely, stressing that it would go a long way in fashioning out modalities that would assist in curtailing the menace being experienced in the society as a result of the subject matter.
He described the cases as highly lamentable , unwanted , unbecoming and uncalled for further stressing the council’s readiness to support any move by public spirited individual and corporate bodies in the war against the unethical behaviour with a view to ensuring a decent, refined and oriented community
He lauded their concern over the skyrocketing rate of moral decadence among the majority, hoping they would remain unrelenting and bold in that respect, despite the pressure and intimidation they would face from certain retrogressive, unscrupulous, and undesirable elements who always raise eyebrows against anything capable of ensuring behavioral progression across the locality.
Earlier, the leader of the delegation, Alhaji Sulaiman Muhammad, said the rationale behind the visit was to solicit the council’s understanding, support, and cooperation as the fourth estate of the realm in carrying out its mandate, describing the Journalists as partners in progress, all working to propagate the ideals of ensuring a wholesome society.
Alhaji Sulaiman Muhammad revealed that the commission has selected eight states for a pilot project, including Kano, Jigawa, Yobe, Borno, Lagos, Osun, Imo, and Cross River.
He disclosed that, barring any hitch, the flag-off of the campaign would take place on Monday, the 7th of this month, across the designated states.
