Kano NUJ Chair Reaffirms Commitment to Fostering Industry Collaboration

The Chairman of the Kano State Council of the Nigeria Union of Journalists, Comrade Sulaiman Abdullahi Dederi, has reiterated the union’s readiness to enhance positive working relationships with all media outlets in the state, elevating professionalism within the industry.

He made the remarks when he led the Executive Members of the union to a courtesy visit to Jalla Radio.

He said the visit was to encourage the station to become a registered member of the Nigeria Union of Journalists.

Comrade Dederi said the move aims to further professionalism within the sector and unlock various benefits offered by the Union.

Additionally, the Secretary of the Union, Comrade Abubakar Shehu Kwaru, emphasized the importance of collaboration and support from Jalla Radio in terms of training and enhancing the skills of practicing journalists.

He explained that the NUJ’s current leadership in the state places a strong emphasis on improving the capacity of its members to uphold professionalism in journalism.

In a response, the Chairman of Jalla Radio, Alhaji Sa’idu Dattijo Adhama, expressed a willingness to support any initiatives that propel the Union forward.

He emphasized the significance of continuous training and development for professionals in various fields, particularly in journalism.

He underscored the need for fostering a collaborative environment that transcends political differences, focusing instead on generating progressive ideas that will advance the state’s development as a whole.

He lauded the Kano NUJ leadership for the visit and assured his support towards enhancing journalism in Kano.
