The Kano State Council of the Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ) has rejoiced with Comrade Alhassan Yahaya on his election victory at the 8th Triennial National Delegates Conference held in Owerri, Imo State.
In a statement jointly signed by the Chairman of the State Council, Comrade Suleiman Abdullahi Dederi, and Secretary Abubakar Shehu Kwaru expressed the council’s elation over the achievement. “We couldn’t hold back our joy over the resounding victory of Comrade Alhassan Yahaya,” it stated.

“This election is not just a personal triumph; it symbolizes the collective aspiration of journalists across Nigeria for robust leadership in our union.”
The statement went on to extend congratulations to Alhassan Yahaya’s deputy, Dr. Abimbola Oyetunde, along with the other newly elected executive members who emerged victorious in the elections.
“Your commitment and dedication to the principles of journalism, and your vision for the future of our union, will undoubtedly lead us toward a more empowered and unified profession,” it added.
The council prayed for divine guidance for the newly elected National President and his team.

“We pray to Almighty God to steer Comrade Alhassan Yahaya and his executive council members on the right path so they may serve the members of our beloved union with unwavering integrity and commitment,” he said.
The delegates present at the conference unanimously declared that the victory of Comrade Alhassan Yahaya and his executive council members was a result of divine intervention, emphasizing the collective hope for renewed progress within the NUJ.

The 8th Triennial National Delegates Conference took place on Wednesday at the Rockview Hotel in Owerri, attracting journalists from across the nation who participated in the event with great enthusiasm and a peaceful spirit.
