Kano Governor Administers Oath to 9 High Court Justices 4 Shariah Court Khadis

Kano State Governor, Alhaji Abba Kabir Yusuf, has administered the oath of office to nine High Court Justices and four Shariah Court of Appeal Kadis to strengthen the administration of justice in the state.

In his speech at the ceremony held at Government House, Kano State, Governor Abba said the appointment of the judges and khadis was a
testament to the exceptional legal acumen, commitment to Justice and unwavering dedication to upholding the rule of law.

He further said the appointment comes with immense responsibilities, stressing that he has every confidence that the new judges and kadis will discharge their duties with utmost impartiality, wisdom and fairness.

“As Judges and Khadis of Kano State, you hold a high position of trust in our society. It is through your decisions and rulings that Justice is served, rights are protected, and order is maintained,”

“The responsibility you carry is immense, and the impact of your Judgments stretche far and wide. It is a responsibility that demands not only legal expertise but also profound understanding, sympathy, and a commitment, to preserving the fundamental principles upon which our legal system is built”

The Governor further maintained that, It is essential that, we create an enabling environment for
our Judiciary and the legal system which must be a
creation of hope, by ensuring that Justice is not a privilege preserved for the few, but a right accessible to all. We have ensured infrastructural provisions and welfare needs to ease the performance of duties and responsibilities of our
judicial officers. Since inception, this administration has acceded to most requests from the judiciary. This has to do with our firm commitment to the separation of powers and the independence of the judiciary which along with my colleagues the Governors are working tirelessly to ensure
its implementation.”

He urged the newly judges and khadis to embrace the principles of fairness equity, impartiality and fear of Allah throughout in the discharge of their responsibilities as Judges and Khadis.

Governor Abba added “I urge all of you to approach your new roles with humility, empathy and a commitment to service. The road ahead is challenging, marked by complex and difficult decisions in the face of the weight of public expectations. But, I have faith in Your abilities to rise to the occasion, to seek wisdom and guidance in the laws and precedents that have been laid before you and to make decisions that will stand the test of time.

“Your selection for appointment as judges and Khadis has been done with utmost conviction that you are qualified in all respects to occupy such exalted positions. This conclusion has been reached devoid of any partisan consideration.”

Justice Watch News gathered that the newly Justices and Khadis included: Hon Justice Fatima Adamu, Hon Justice Hauwa Lawan, Hon Justice Musa Ahmad, Hon Justice Musa Dahuru Muhd and Hon Justice Farida Rabiu Danbappa, others are Hon. Justice Halima Aliyu Nasir, Hon Justice Aisha Mahmud, Hon Justice Adam Abdullahi and Hon Justice Hanif Sanusi Yusuf, Hon Khadi Muhd Adam Kademi, Hon Khadii Salisu Muhd Isa, Hon Khadi Isa Idris Said and Hon Khadi Aliyu Muhd Kani.

Justice Watch News similarly observed that notable personalities who attended the swearing-in ceremony included the Kano Chief Judge, Honorable Justice Dije Abdu Aboki, the Kano Grand Khadi, Honorable Tijjani Yakasai, members of the Kano Executive Council, justices, and other personalities.
