A Kano Sharia Court sitting at Hisbah Board has sentenced eight pimps to three months in prison and ten lashes each for their involvement in indecent dressing and public dancing.
The Sharia Court on Tuesday, publicly administered the beatings as prescribed by Islamic laws at the Hisbah Board premises.

The pimps, who had been engaged in a cart dance at a wedding ceremony, had also caused a stir by appearing in crossdressing outfits.
Presiding over the case, Mallam Sani Tamimu Hausawa found the culprits guilty on all charges after explaining the relevant laws.
The judgment included a three-month imprisonment term, a fine of N10,000 each, and ten lashes for each offender.

The admitted to their charges and expressed remorse, seeking forgiveness and promising not to repeat their actions.
Mujahideen Aminu Abubakar, the Acting Commander of the Hisbah in the state, expressed gratitude to the Presiding judge and vowed to continue the fight against indecency in Kano.
