Just In: KACCIMA Electoral Committee Suspends Election Indefinitely Over Infractions

The emergency General Meeting of Kano Chamber of Commerce, Industry, Mines and Agriculture, (KACCIMA) designed to conduct election of new executives was concluded deadlock.

The Chairman of the Electoral Committee, Sarkin Shanun Kano Alh. Shehu Mohammed Dankadai in a chat with Justice Watch News Correspondent said the committee decided to suspend the election because some aspirants denied to abide by rules and arrangements governing the conduct of the committee.

Dankadai revealed that the arrangements to conduct the election was predicated pursuant to the Court Order issued by Federal High Court Kano, noting that that the committee will peruse the issues raised by members for next line of action.

Speaking on behalf of three Aspirants, Alh. Usman Darma said they were disqualified illegally by the committee.

He expressed his dissatisfaction with the committee arrangements to conduct the election.

In his speech, their lawyer, Abba Hikima said their disqualification clearly disenfranchised their rights which according to him, contradicts the provision of constitution of Federal Republic of Nigeria, 1999 as amended.

Another Aspirant, Alh. Abdul’aziz Sabitu Mohd who also said there is need for the committee to prepare more for successful deliberations.

Justice Watch News gathered that the Committee suspended the election indefinitely.
