Jigawa State Chief Judge Approves Annual Vacation for State High Court

The Jigawa State Chief Judge, Justice Umar M. Sadiq has approved the Annual Vacation for the State High Court, to be commenced from July 10th to September 2023.

In a statement by Director Publicity and Protocol Matters, Jigawa State Judiciary also said the High Court Judicial staff will resume work on Monday September 11.

He explained that the Chief Judge approved the Annual Vacation pursuant to the Provision of Order 45 Rule 5(1) of the Jigawa State High Court Civil Procedure Rules (Subsidiary Legislation) Cap. H-2, laws of Jigawa, 2012.

“The provisions gives power to His Lordship the State Chief Judge Hon. Justice Umar M. Sadi to declare the Court on Vacation.”

“In view of the above, by the Provision of Jigawa State High Court 2022/2023 Legal Calendar, all High Court Judges shall be on Vacation from Monday 10th July, 2023 to Friday 8th September, 2023 and to resume work on Monday 11th September, 2023.” Wangara further explained.

He noted that during the Vacation Period, Justice Mustapha Bello Adamu of High Court No 9 Hadejia, is to Serve as Vacation Judge during the period and to Sit at High Court Complex, Dutse.

“On behalf of the entire Staff of the State Judicial arm, we pray for the Hon. Judges a happiest Vacation.” He stated.

Justice Watch News gathered that Annual Vacation for High Court Judges in Nigeria is a designated period during which the court suspends regular proceedings and activities.
