The Jigawa State Police Command has shared the achievements made during the months of July to September, 2023 in the fight against crime and criminal activities in the state.
DSP Lawan Shiisu Adam, Police Public Relations Officer, Jigawa State Command disclosed this at press briefing held on Monday.

He said the Command’s proactive strategies and diligent efforts have led to a generally peaceful atmosphere, enabling residents to carry out their lawful activities without fear.
“During this period, a total of 298 suspects involved in various crimes were arrested, including armed robbers, kidnappers, murderers, rapists, vandals, fraudsters, and others.
“The breakdown of the arrests includes 25 suspected armed robbers, 12 suspected kidnappers, 36 murder suspects, 25 suspected rapists, 37 suspected thieves, 15 suspected vandals, 17 suspected animal rustlers, 5 suspected fraudsters, and 126 suspects belonging to a gang of brigands.”
Additionally he said the Command successfully rescued 6 kidnapped victims during the period in review.
DSP Shiisu further said in terms of recoveries, the Command retrieved several exhibits, including firearms such as an AK 47 rifle, a Beretta pistol, and 3 locally made guns.
“They also seized 48 rounds of ammunition, recovered 20 motor vehicles/cycles, 64 rustled animals, and a range of drugs including wraps of suspected Indian hemp, D5 tablets, Tramadol, Exol, Diazepam injection, Blue diazepam tablets, and others. Various items such as generators, air conditioners, vandalized armored cable wires, handsets, sound systems, rice, flour, and more were also recovered.”

The PPRO noted that the Command reiterated its commitment to protecting the lives and property of the people of Jigawa State and called on residents to continue partnering with the Police in the fight against crime.
DSP Adam revealed that the Command expressed gratitude to the Inspector General of Police, Ag IGP Kayode Adeolu Egbeyokun, , the Jigawa State Government, and other security agencies for their support and collaboration.
He stressed that the Command also appreciated the cooperation and prayers of the people of Jigawa State and solicited for continued cooperation in the future.
