The Jigawa State Police Command has discovered a house where suspected stolen armored cables were found burning.
ASP Abubakar Isah, 2nd In Command, 2IC Police Public Relations Officer Jigawa State Command made this known in a statement issued on Tuesday.
He explained that on 18th Sept. 2023 at about 1130hrs, a distress call was received at Jahun Police station that, smoke was seen coming out from the house of one Usman Ibrahim ‘m’ age 23yrs of Kabala quarters, Jahun LGA.

He further explained that upon receiving the report, the Divisional Police Officer led a team of Policemen and swiftly moved to the scene.
He similarly said on their arrival, it was discovered that the smoke was a result of burning armoured cables strongly suspected to be stolen by the said Usman Ibrahim, explaining that he was arrested.
He further explained that on interrogation, the suspect confessed to having dug and vandalized cables along Jahun to Kafin Hausa road.

ASP Umar further said In another development, on 22nd Sept. 2023 at about 0400hrs, a distress call was received from Kadoma village Jahun LGA that ” unknown person trespassed into the house of one Halima Yau ‘f’ age 30yrs, and made away with her Tecno phone valued at twenty thousand naira (₦20,000.00k), the suspect attacked her with a knife which as a result she sustained injuries on her face and back.”

“On receipt of the report, a team of Policemen were mobilized and swiftly rushed to the scene where the suspect was arrested and the exhibit was recovered.”
“On interrogation, the suspect confessed to committing the offense,”
In addition, ASP Isah noted that on 24th Sept. 2023 at about 0430hrs, information received from a reliable source had it that, one Opel vehicle was seen with three occupants conveying three Rams suspected to be stolen along Yanbaro village S/Tankarkar to Gumel axis.
He revealed that on receipt of the report, the patrol team from Sule Tankarkar Division were detailed and the vehicle was intercepted, In the process, the three occupants escaped and fled to an unknown destination, the driver was arrested and the three rams were recovered.

He added that on interrogation, the driver confessed to having received the stolen rams from the fleeing suspects.

He Subsequently revealed that, following the directives given by the Commissioner of Police Jigawa State Command CP. Effiom Emmanuel Ekot, to all the DPOs to carry out raids at every nook and cranny within their Area of Responsibilities.
He continued that on 23rd Sept. 2023 at about 300hrs, a raid was carried out at Roni LGA.
He further revealed that during the raid, one Buhari Abubakar ‘m’ aged 30yrs of Dansure village Roni LGA was arrested in possession of the following exhibits;
According the 2IC some quantity of dried leaves suspected to be an Indian hemp. Two hundred and fifty (250) tablets of Exol Twenty-nine (29) tablets of diazepam and Two (2) tablets of Tramadol.

He disclosed that the suspects were already arraigned in court to face the full wrath of the law.
