Jigawa Command of Nigeria Police says its Officers has on patrol has successfully intercepted a vehicle with three occupants including the driver, conveying two cows strongly suspected to be stolen.
ASP Abubakar Isah Second in Command 2ic Police Public Relations Officer Jigawa PoliceCommand in a statement identified the suspects as one Amadu Ibrahim ‘m’ age 30yrs of Kachakama village, Hadejia LGA, and Ali Usman ‘m’ age 40yrs of Itas Gadau LGA, Bauchi state.
He explained that on 1st October 2023 at about 1600hrs one Yusuf Abdullahi ‘m’ of Kafa village K/Hausa LGA, reported at K/Hausa Police station that, on 30th Sep2023 at about 0300hrs unknown thieves trespassed into his house and stole away his two cows valued at about one million five hundred thousand naira (₦1,500,000.00k).

He said on interrogation, the suspects voluntarily confessed to having rustled the cows at Ruba village K/Hausa LGA and were arrested on their way to Toro LGA of Bauchi state where they will sell the stolen cows.

The also said in another development, on 3rd October, 2023 at about 1830hrs information was received from a Good Samaritan at S/Tankarkar Police Station that, unknown persons were seen with a cow strongly suspected to be stolen.
“On receipt of the report, the Divisional Police Officer (DPO) S/Tankarkar Division mobilized a patrol team to the scene, where one Jauro Hussaini ‘m’ age 32yrs of Maizuwo village was arrested with the cow while the other suspect fled to an unknown destination.
“When the search was conducted at the suspect’s house, four (4) bulls, three (3) sheep, and two (2) rams were recovered from the house which is strongly suspected to be stolen.”

He stated that on interrogation, the suspects confessed to the commission of the offence alleged against them.
additionally he stated thqt on 30th Sep. 2023 one Abdullahi Sule ‘m’ 50yrs of Galadachi quarters Kazaure LGA, reported at Kazaure Police station that, “on 29th Sept. 2023 at about 0200hrs he discovered that unknown elements trespassed into his house and stole his three (3) handsets; Huawei Android valued fifteen thousand naira (₦15,000.00), Tecno Camon valued fifteen thousand naira (₦15,000.00) and Gionee valued eighteen thousand naira (₦18,000.00).
“On receipt of the report, Policemen attached to the Kazaure division visited the scene of the crime. Based on credible information, one Aminu Rabiu ‘m’ 15yrs of Galadachi quarters Kazaure LGA was arrested.”
He noted that on interrogation, the suspect confessed to the commission of the crime.

He added that among the three stolen phones, two were recovered from him.
ASP assured that all the suspects arrested will be charged to court for prosecution after a thorough investigation at the State CID Dutse.
