One Ibrahim Abubakar, 25, of Malamawa village, Dutse LGA has been arrested by Jigawa Police operatives in connection with the alleged case of armed robbery.
DSP Lawan Shiisu Adam, Jigawa Command Public Relations Officer made this known in a statement issued in Dutse.

He explained that the suspect was arrested on 18th June, 2023 at about 0600hrs, upon an intelligence gathering by operatives attached to Kiyawa Division.
He recalled that on 21st Jan, 2023 at about 1020hrs one Ibrahim Abubakar ‘m’ 29yrs of Nafada LGA Gombe state, reported at Kiyawa Police station that, on the 20th Jan, 2023 at about 2100hrs, while he was coming from Kano heading to Gombe state, hoodlums dressed in army uniform with guns and cutlasses, blocked Shuwarin to Andaza road and robbed him the sum of twenty-five thousand naira (N25,000.00k) and seven GSM Android Handsets valued at six hundred thousand and nine naira (N609,000.00k)

DSP Shiisu also said the suspect was strongly suspected to be among the syndicate terrorizing Shuwarin-Kiyawa axis.
“Effort is on top gear to arrest the remaining gang members, upon completion of the investigation, the suspect will be charged in court.” He further said.
Similarly in another development, the PPRO pointed out that a fake Police Mobile Corporal one Usman Khalil ‘m’ 25yrs of Kano state was also arrested on 20th June 2023 at about 1640hrs.

“One Usman Khalil ‘m’ 25yrs of Kano state was arrested in connection with the alleged case of impersonation by the Police Mobile attached to 35PMF Dutse Jigawa state.”
He maintained that Khalil, a resident of Kano State, before his arrest, went to one Bako Aliyu at mechanic village, in a police uniform, and bought some food commodities that cost four thousand and three hundred naira (N4,300.00k).
He further collected the total cash sum of five thousand naira (N5,000.00) totaling nine thousand and three hundred naira (N9,300.00k) and promised to pay it back as soon as he fix his salary account.
“Aliyu Bako further alleged that the suspect usually comes to his shop in a Police uniform and sometimes with a gun.
“The suspect and exhibits were transferred to SCID Jigawa for a discreet investigation.” He noted.
