The Jigawa State Commissioner of Police, AIG Effiom Emmanuel Ekot, on Tuesday presented cheques totaling ₦59,753,402.84K to the families of 14 fallen police officers.
According to a statement by DSP Shiisu Lawan Adam, Jigawa Police Command Public Relations Officer, These cheques represent the payout from the Group Life Assurance (GLA) and IGP Family Welfare Insurance Schemes (IGPFWS).

He explained that the event was attended by members of the Command’s Management Team.
He maintained that the Commissioner of Police expressed gratitude to the Inspector-General of Police, Ag. IGP. Kayode Adeolu Egbetokun, for prioritizing the welfare of police officers and their families.
He urged the recipients to utilize the funds wisely to improve their lives.
Speaking on behalf of the beneficiaries, Kefas Ishaku expressed appreciation to the IGP and the Commissioner of Police for the timely welfare support.
He emphasized the significance of the assistance, particularly during the ongoing economic challenges, and assured that the funds would be used appropriately.

DSP Adam noted that the presentation of the cheques underscores the commitment of the Jigawa State Police Command to support the families of fallen officers and honor their service.
