Inauguration, Swearing-in: Adamawa Police Beefs Up Security, Fortifies Ribadu Square

Adamawa state police command has said that in synergy and collaboration with Sister Security Agencies have deployed massively to ensure the safety and security of all citizens; as well as having a laudable and peaceful inauguration ceremony on May 29, 2023.

SP Suleiman Yahaya Nguroje Adamawa state police command in a statement said the Commissioner of Police CP Afolabi Babatola had mobilised the Command’s operatives to provide a comprehensive security arrangement.

He further said adequate personnel have been detailed to protect all places of events, VIPs, Hotels amongst others.

“The Operational Assets of the Command have equally been deployed to man the entry and exit points of the State capital city, Jimeta, and other critical government installations.

“Amongst these operatives are men drawn from, Police Mobile Force (PMF), Counter Terrorism Unit (CTU), Special Protection Unit (SPU), Special Rapid Response Team (SRRT), Anti Bomb Squad (ATB), SIB- State Intelligent Bureau, , NPF Medical, NPF Mounted Troops, and K9, among others.

The PPRO pointed out that the Command has also deployed highly efficient drones for aerial surveillance in Ribadu Square and its environs, noting that all the Command Operational vehicles serviceable(APCs) will as well be deployed to man strategic places around the capital city and Government House.

“Police and other security operatives were equally deployed for Crowd and Traffic Control along routes and Junctions.

He revealed that during the event, Anti Bomb experts will be taking rigorous safety measurements on persons entering the venue, which include screenings and searching, these exercise will be done in collaboration with the protocol sub-committee of the Inauguration committee to have seamless traffic free flow.

“The Command warns those who do not have any business around the vicinity during the ceremony to steer clear as security measures are emplaced to ensure serenity and orderliness.”

The police Boss, urged members of the public to cooperate with the Police as they display high level of Professionalism during the Inauguration.
