Governor Yusuf To Inaugurate Shuurah Council

The Kano State Government will inaugurate the newly reconstituted Shuurah Council on Monday, 8th September, 2025, under the leadership of Governor Abba Kabiru Yusuf.

He said the inauguration ceremony will take place at the Government House, Kano.

He also said the establishment of the Shuurah Council represents a significant step in strengthening participatory governance, inclusiveness, and transparency in decision-making.

According to Commissioner, the Council is expected to serve as an advisory body to the State Government, providing informed guidance on policies and programmes that will continue to drive the transformation agenda and promote sustainable development in the state.

“Governor Abba Kabiru Yusuf, widely known for his commitment to people-oriented governance, will use the occasion to highlight the objectives and mandate of the Council, as well as reaffirm his administration’s dedication to accountability, equity, and citizens’ participation in decision-making towards ensuring effective service delivery to the people of Kano State.”

“The Shuurah Council is composed of highly respected personalities, representing critical stakeholder constituencies, with a view to ensuring balanced and adequate representation across all social strata of the Kano community.” Commissioner Waiya stated.

He noted that all members of the Council, as well as invited guests, are enjoined to attend the event as the Kano State Government takes another important stride in consolidating the democratic ideals of citizens’ participation in governance and strengthening institutions for enhanced service delivery.
