Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf of Kano State has departed Madina for Makkah to perform the lesser Hajj (Umrah), shortly after attending the burial of renowned businessman and elder statesman, Alhaji Aminu Alhassan Dantata.

In a statement issued the governor spokesperson Sunusi Bature Dawakin Tofa The governor is leading an official delegation from Kano on the spiritual journey.
The burial took place at the historic Al-Baqi Cemetery in Madina, following funeral rites at the Prophet’s Mosque.
Dantata, who passed away in Abu Dhabi, was widely respected for his philanthropy, business achievements, and decades of service to Kano and Nigeria as a whole.

The governor’s delegation includes top government officials, close aides, and members of the state executive council.
Governor Yusuf’s trip comes at a somber moment for Kano State, as people mourn the passing of a figure many regarded as a pillar of guidance and generosity.
