Gombe State Varsity Alumni Elects National Exco

Gombe State University (GSU) Alumni Association has elected its new National Executive Committee, (NEC) where Dr. Buhari Magaji emerged new National President.

The Election took place at the GSU’s Delegate Conference.

The Conference was to lead a dynamic team of accomplished individuals, who are committed to strengthening the bond between the alma mater and its esteemed alumni community.

The seamless electoral process saw a united front as the candidates secured their positions unopposed, indicative of the trust and confidence alumni members have placed in the new leadership.

In an exclusive interview after the announcement, Dr. Buhari Magaji, the newly elected National President (worldwide), expressed his gratitude to the alumni for the opportunity to serve. “I am deeply honored to be chosen as the National President of the GSU Alumni Association. My vision is to foster a strong sense of unity among our alumni community while leveraging our collective strength to contribute significantly to the growth and development of our beloved alma mater,” he stated.

As a testament to the diversity and inclusivity of the association, Yunusa Muhammad secured the position of Vice President. With a strong commitment to empowering fellow alumni and creating meaningful opportunities for networking and professional development, Mr. Muhammad aims to ensure the association’s vitality and relevance.

Heading the secretarial duties is Dr. Ibrahim Adamu Usman, who has been elected as the Secretary General. Dr. Usman’s extensive experience in administration and leadership will undoubtedly contribute to the association’s efficient operation and seamless communication.

Assisting Dr. Usman in various administrative tasks is Jeroboam Joel Maitale, who takes on the role of Assistant Secretary General. His enthusiasm and dedication to the alumni course will be instrumental in ensuring the smooth functioning of the association.

Nasiru Muhammad, a finance expert, will serve as the Financial Secretary. Mr. Muhammad’s financial acumen and transparent approach will be pivotal in managing the association’s funds responsibly.

The Treasurer, Usman Isah, is entrusted with the crucial responsibility of financial management, budgeting, and executing various projects to further the association’s objectives.

Muhammad Amin Jibrin Kwami, a seasoned communicator, will take up the role of Public Relations Officer (PRO) to enhance the association’s public image and maintain effective communication channels with members and the public.

Nasiru Abdullahi, as the Internal Auditor, will play a vital role in upholding the association’s financial integrity and ensuring accountability.

Dr. Rashida Yarima has been elected as the Welfare Secretary, with a focus on promoting the well-being and support of fellow alumni members, ensuring that their needs are met.

To provide expert legal counsel, the position of Legal Adviser has been assigned to Muhammad Yahaya Gidado. Mr. Gidado’s legal expertise will be instrumental in guiding the association through various legal matters.

Dr. Adamu Jibir, as the Immediate Past President, brings with him a wealth of experience and wisdom. His advisory role will offer valuable insights to the new executive team based on his successful tenure.

In addition to the executive roles, coordinators for the North-east and North-west regions were also elected to ensure regional representation and engagement. Sagir Shugaba and Habibu Muhammad Isah will respectively serve as the Coordinators for their respective regions.

Rounding out the executive team are Ex-officio members Mal Usman Isa Yau, Haruna Mohammed Adamu, and Fatima B. Sani, who will serve as advisors and provide valuable guidance based on their expertise.

The newly elected executive members are poised to build upon the association’s strong foundation, focusing on unity, innovation, and collaboration to drive positive change. As they assume their roles, the GSU Alumni Association is confident that their collective dedication will bring immense benefits to both the alma mater and the alumni community at large.

As the new leadership takes the reins, GSU alumni can look forward to a vibrant and prosperous future, as their alma mater continues to evolve and thrive under their unwavering commitment and support.
