Gombe State Launches Presidential Palliative Program to Aid Small Businesses

Gombe State Government has embarked on a significant initiative aimed at supporting micro, small, and medium enterprises (MSMEs) through the commencement of enumeration exercises for the Presidential Palliative Program (PPP) grants.

Spearheaded by the office of the Senior Special Assistant/Focal Person on MSMEs to the Executive Governor of Gombe State, Abdulwahab Sabo, this program targets over eleven thousand beneficiaries spread across the state’s 11 Local Government Areas (LGAs).

Under this program, each beneficiary stands to receive a grant of fifty thousand naira, providing a much-needed financial boost in the face of economic challenges.

Abdullahi Sabo expressed gratitude to President Ahmad Bola Tinubu and the Ministry of Trade and Industry for extending this opportunity to Gombe State.

He also called upon the people of Gombe State to continue supporting the present administration, led by Governor Muhammadu Inuwa Yahaya, chairman of the Northern Governors’ Forum, in their efforts to deepen democracy.

Babangida Usman from the Bank of Industry, responsible for conducting the enumeration exercises, commended both the State and Federal Governments for initiating this program to alleviate the plight of the masses.

Usman mentioned that the screening process for over eleven thousand beneficiaries is expected to span nine days.

Among the beneficiaries who expressed gratitude for the assistance provided are Yusuf Alhaji Ibrahim, Treasurer of the Keke Napep Riders Association, Harisa Muhammad from Bye Pass Barunde in Akko LGA, and Abdullahi Yakubu, Chairman of Yan’Balangu in Gombe State.

They acknowledged Governor Muhammadu Inuwa Yahaya and President Ahmad Bola Tinubu for their timely intervention during these challenging times, pledging to utilize the funds to enhance their businesses.
