Gombe State Commemorates Armed Forces Remembrance Day with Focus on Security Challenges

Gombe State Governor Muhammad Inuwa Yahaya
has restated his plans to enhancing security measures in the stated.

Represented by his deputy, Dr. Manasah Daniel Jatau to mark the Armed Forces Remembrance Day, in Gombe State, Governor Yahaya maintained that protecting lives and property of the people of the state is his cardinal principles.

In a remarks Col. Sule Musa Ahmed, Commander of the 301 Artillery Regiment in Gombe, emphasizing the Nigerian Army’s pivotal role in national development and safeguarding citizens’ lives and property.

Col. Abdullahi Bello, the State Commissioner for the Ministry of Internal Security, highlighted the current administration’s commitment to addressing security concerns across the 11 Local Government Areas (LGAs) of Gombe State.

During the ceremony, Chairman of the Legionnaires in Gombe, Sergeant Adamu Dogo, stated the need for increasing support for their over 5,000 members spread across the 11 LGAs.

He called on government to prioritize their welfare and drew attention to the more than 3,000 widows under their care.

Sergeant Dogo highlighted the significance of commemorating Army Forces Remembrance Day, a tradition initiated post-Second World War, which Nigeria continues to honor.

The occasion saw the presence of key figures, including Commissioner of Police for Gombe State CP Hayatu Usman, Secretary to the State Government Professor Abubakar Ibrahim Jodi, Head of Civil Service Alhaji Ahmad Kasimu Abdullahi, and Deputy Speaker Sadam Bello, representing the State House of Assembly.

The convergence of these dignitaries underscored the collective commitment to addressing security challenges in Gombe State.
