Gombe Police Rescue 2 Shabewa Kidnapped Victims Unhurt

The Gombe Command of Nigeria Police says its Operatives have successfully rescued Two kidnapped victims, earlier abducted at Shabewa Ward of Dukku LGA of the state.

ASP Mahid Muazu Abubakar command’s Spokesperson made this known in a statement issued on Tuesday.

He said on 8th Oct. 2023, at approximately 02:55 hours, suspected kidnappers invaded the residence of Umar Sambo ‘m’ of Shabewa ward in Dukku, Dukku LGA, with guns and other dangerous weapons.

He also said the suspects kidnapped one of his wives, Amina Usman Aliyu, and his brother, Mustapha Sambo ‘m’, both of the same address.

He consequently said on 13th Oct. 2023, the Gombe State Command received credible intelligence and launched a rescue operation mission, with the support of the Police Mobile Team, Mopol 34 Kwami, and members of nearby hunter and vigilante groups.

ASP Mahid noted that the operation spanned the Dukku, Bajoga, Kwami, and Nafada axis where suspected kidnappers’ dens were identified.

“The rescue mission spanned 48 hours, successfully resulting in the hot chase and release of the two unhurt victims without ransom in the early hours of 16th Oct. 2023.

The Spokesperson assured that more details of the exercise will be communicated in due course.

The Gombe State Command appreciates the utmost commitment, dedication, and bravery shown by the joint team for a successful operation.
